
Nanlong Ancient Village is an ancient Buyi village, rich in ethnic customs and mysterious Buyi architecture. Located on the shores of Wanfeng Lake in Bajie Town, Xingyi City, Guizhou Province, it boasts rich ethnic flavor, authentic customs, and captivating legends. The village's tiled houses, stilt houses, and other ancient dwellings are well-preserved. The villagers, all of them Buyi, still maintain the custom of men farming and women weaving.
Of the more than 360 ancient banyan trees in the village, over 160 are associated with legends. For generations, the village's inhabitants believe that all things possess spirituality, and they have given each tree a vivid name: Husband and Wife Tree, Yellow Dragon Building Bridge, Hippo Flying Dragon... These towering ancient trees carry countless mystical stories.

Nanlong Ancient Village dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties and is one of Guizhou’s best-preserved Buyi ethnic villages. It reflects the region’s traditional stone architecture and centuries-old customs, showcasing a blend of cultural and architectural heritage.
Located in Xingyi City, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, about 15 km from downtown Xingyi. Visitors can take a taxi, local bus, or rent a car from Xingyi. No metro is available.
Open all day, but best visited between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The ideal seasons are spring and autumn for mild weather and lush scenery.
Entry is usually free or costs a small fee (around ¥10–20). Tickets can be purchased at the entrance; no advance booking is needed.
