Baishui County is located in northeastern Shaanxi Province, at the transition zone between the Guanzhong Plain and the northern Shaanxi Plateau. It serves as a strategic gateway between the two regions and is named after the Baishui River. The Yanghe Site within the county has unearthed red and gray pottery artifacts, along with stone tools, representing an ancient village site from the Longshan Culture of the Neolithic Age. Other sites include the Lingaohe Site and the Qiuli Temple. The Cangjie Temple in Shiguan Town, Baishui County, is the only remaining temple in China dedicated to the invention of writing. It boasts two opera houses adjacent to the three main gates, a unique feature among Chinese temples. The temple grounds are dotted with towering ancient trees, including 48 ancient cypresses, each over a thousand years old. The Cangjie Temple cypress trees are one of the three largest ancient cypress clusters in my country.
