Yanqu County, also known as Shun Township, is the hometown of Emperor Shun. The discovery of the "Century Dawn Ape" fossil disproved the theory that humans originated in Africa. Mount Lishan, the only virgin forest in North China, is known as the "gene bank of North China's flora and fauna."
