It is China's largest production base for handmade shoes and MSG. With a long history and outstanding people, Xiangcheng is the hometown of Yuan Shikai, the first president of the Republic of China; Zhou Xingsi, author of "Thousand Character Classic"; and Ying Yang, one of the Seven Sages of the Jian'an Period.
