Shitou Village is located on the road from Shijiazhuang to Jingxing. Nestled in a secluded mountainous landscape, the village lies low in the south and high in the north, crouching in the east and rising in the west. Located in a small basin less than one square kilometer, its shape is elongated, resembling a fish swimming with its head east and its tail west. None of the more than 300 courtyard houses in the village are alike, each possessing its own unique charm.
The village boasts over 4,000 stone houses, over 3,700 meters of stone-paved streets, more than 1,000 stone wells and kilns, and over 200 stone steles. Stone buildings, stone pavilions, stone houses, stone courtyards, stone tables and benches, stone millstones, stone bridges, and stone railings can be found everywhere. The ancient village retains its charm and beauty, with Ming and Qing dynasty buildings remaining intact.
