Baidicheng Scenic Area
Today, Baidi City refers to the Baidi Temple, which houses Mingliang Hall, Tuogu Hall, Wuhou Shrine, and the Stargazing Pavilion, among other Ming and Qing dynasty architecture. The temple also displays numerous steles inscribed with poetry and prose, relics from the hanging coffins of Qutang Gorge, and cultural relics from the Sui and Tang dynasties, all of which are of great value. Famous poets throughout history, such as Li Bai, Du Fu, and Su Shi, visited Baidi Temple and left behind numerous poems, earning Baidi City the nickname "Poetry City."
Fengjie Tiankeng and Difeng
Located in the southern mountainous area of Fengjie County, the Tiankeng Difeng Scenic Area boasts a depth of 666 meters, making it the world's deepest tiankeng. The scenic area is divided into ten sections: Xiaozhai Tiankeng, Tianjingxia Difeng, Maze River, and Longqiao River. The numerous bizarre caves and vertical shafts are shrouded in countless legends. At the bottom of the tiankeng lies a vast underground river, fed by a mysterious canyon known locally as the "Difeng."
Kuimen
The western entrance to Qutang Gorge, also known as the West Gate of Qutang Gorge, is flanked by sheer cliffs hundreds of feet high and less than a hundred meters wide, forming a gateway-like structure. This earned the name "Kuimen," known as "Kuimen, the Most Magnificent of the World." Kuimen is a landmark of the Three Gorges. Flanked by Chijia Mountain to the south and Baiyan Mountain to the north, it shimmers in layers of silver light, whether bright or dim, regardless of the weather. The Yangtze River, opening this gate, rushes mightily eastward, its cliffs cascading down the canyon as if sculpted by a knife or an axe. The mountains are high, the gorge narrows, and the sky appears to be a thin line between clouds and the sky. The gorge itself is deep and swift, with the river less than 50 meters at its narrowest point. The surging waves are breathtaking, the roaring torrent awe-inspiring.
