Koh Lanta (Lanta Island) is located in southwestern Thailand, at the southernmost tip of Krabi Province. Long and narrow, Koh Lanta is a national park dotted with beautiful islets and surrounded by coral reefs. Covered in pale golden jungle, it's known as Krabi's sexiest beach.
Koh Lanta is a completely pristine island that has retained its most primitive and simple appearance. Tens of thousands of hectares of lush mangroves extend all the way to the sea. Only here can you appreciate its vitality and grandeur. You can paddle a canoe or take a long-tail boat into the depths of the dense forest, where many cute little animals live. You can catch tide crabs and mudskippers, and have a close contact with wild proboscis monkeys or feed them fruit from a distance.
The further south you go, the quieter it becomes. The southernmost tip of the island is the Lanta Islands National Park and the lighthouse are must-see places for tourists. There are wonderful beaches surrounded there, where you can enjoy the unique scenery of the sea and experience elephant riding in the jungle.
November to April is the dry season in Krabi and the best time to travel. Every year on April 13th to 15th, you can come to Krabi to experience Thailand's Songkran Festival. The whole street is full of celebrating teams.
