Zhenbao Island, located on the Ussuri River and approximately two kilometers long, is named for its resemblance to an ingot. Today, during the summer dry season, Zhenbao Island connects with the Chinese mainland on the Ussuri River, reverting to its original peninsula appearance. The older generation of Chinese fishermen working the Ussuri River call Zhenbao Island "Wengdao."
