Zhenfo Mountain is located in Fushan Township in the middle section of the Qilixia Mountains, more than 30 kilometers south of Daxian County. It is a well-known Buddhist resort.
According to the county annals, during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, farmer Jiang Dehua practiced Taoism while also practicing medicine and growing herbs. He was known as "Good Man Jiang" and "Living Buddha Jiang" and built the "Dehua Temple." Later, a prefect named Sun from Suiding Prefecture went there to pray for a son and found one. Convinced of his spirit, he praised him as "the True Buddha," ordered the temple to be expanded, and personally inscribed "True Buddha Mountain" on the temple gate, hence the name.
Zhenfo Mountain is steep, with dense pine and cypress trees surrounding it from the foot to the mountain gate, and red beams and curved eaves. A thousand-step stone staircase leads straight to the top of the mountain, like a ladder hanging from the sky, with fragrant camphor trees on both sides. The further you go up, the deeper the scenery becomes.
The traditional temple fair of Zhenfoshan is held on the 19th day of the sixth lunar month every year. Pilgrims from all over the country come to worship Buddha and the scene is very lively.
There are cultural landscapes such as Dehua Temple, Jade Buddha Temple, Vajra Temple, Lingyun Village, as well as natural landscapes such as Yanzhi Lake, Three Immortals Stone, Conch Cave, Lotus Temple, Yunhua Mountain, etc.

After visiting Zhenfoshan, you can return to Dazhou city by taxi or bus. From there, you can take a train or bus to other destinations in Sichuan.
