The Ba People's Ancient Castle on Shenlong Mountain, located in the southern suburbs of Guang'an City, is only 1.5 kilometers from the city center. It gets its name from its steep, rugged terrain and winding, soaring dragon-like silhouette. It was once a fortress for the ancient Ba Kingdom and a venue for pilgrimage, prayer, and celestial observation. Constructed from tens of thousands of stone blocks weighing tons, the castle is also known as the Ba People's Stone City.

　　According to historical records, Guang'an was once one of the main habitats of the ancient Ba people, the Bandun Man. This castle was built over 2,000 years ago, during the late Warring States Period, as a military fortress established by the ancient Ba people to protect their then-capital, Jiangzhou (Chongqing), and later Langzhong.

Today, the scenic area is shaded by green trees and lined with bunkers. It is ancient and solemn. The majestic architectural style and straight lines of the Ba people stand before the eyes of tourists. It is the only cultural relic of the Ba people in the country.
