Introducing Shuimogou Scenic Area

Shuimogou Scenic Area, located in Shuimogou District, Urumqi, Xinjiang, lies at the foot of Dongshan Mountain and the end of Hongshan Mountain. Three kilometers from the municipal government, it was formerly Shuimogou Park and comprises six mountains and one river : Qingquan Mountain, Hongqiao Mountain, Wenquan Mountain, Shuita Mountain, Xuelian Mountain, Hongshan Mountain, and Shuimo River.

Shuimogou is a picturesque place, nestled between Qingquan Mountain, Shuita Mountain, Hongqiao Mountain, and Wenquan Mountain. Elms and willows tower into the sky, flowers and grass cover the hillsides, and pavilions and towers are nestled in the greenery. Hundreds of springs gush forth from the base of the mountains, flowing endlessly and forming the Shuimogou ditch.

As early as the Qianlong Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty, this area became a tourist attraction in Urumqi, attracting scholars and poets who lingered there, penning countless beautiful poems. Today, Shuimogou is a place where birds sing and flowers bloom in spring, and where fruits and vegetables abound in autumn. Visitors enjoy picnics, hot spring baths, boat rides, and cable car rides in the mountains, all in a joyful atmosphere.
