Introducing Dinghaishenzhen

Located in Urumqi, Xinjiang, the Dinghai Shenzhen (Magic Needle) is a lush, leafy, and proudly independent elm tree on the shore of Tianchi Lake. This is the Dinghai Shenzhen, one of the eight scenic spots of Tianchi Lake .

This tree's crown is as vast as an umbrella, resembling the canopy of an emperor's golden chariot. Facing the sea to the south, it stands proudly and solitarily. The unique natural environment imbues this unique ancient elm with a sense of grandeur and mystery. Even in years of abundant rainfall, the lake's rise only reaches its roots.

Legend has it that when the Queen Mother of the West held her Peach Festival, inviting all the gods and goddesses, she forgot to invite the Yaochi Lake Monster. During the banquet, the monster stirred up a storm. Furious, the Queen Mother plucked a jade hairpin from her hair and threw it into the water to subdue the monster. After the storm subsided, the hairpin took root and transformed into an elm tree, which now stands guard at the edge of the lake. No matter how the water level rises or falls, the sacred tree remains untouched. Later generations called it the " Divine Needle that Stabilizes the Sea . "
