The Cijin Lighthouse, located at the northern summit of Cijin Mountain, is a square brick lighthouse also known as the Kaohsiung Lighthouse. It is the second lighthouse in Taiwan after the Eluanbi Lighthouse in Pingtung and one of the few remaining Qing Dynasty lighthouses in Taiwan.
The octagonal lighthouse, pure white, shimmers stunningly against the blue sky. The square, white-walled building adjacent to the lighthouse is the lighthouse office. Next to the office is the square building where the old lighthouse stood. Atop the lighthouse is an observation deck, offering panoramic views of Cijin Harbor, Chaishan, Xizi Bay, and the ships entering and leaving Kaohsiung Harbor. It is one of the few remaining Qing Dynasty lighthouses in Taiwan.
