Dongshan River Water Park is located on Xiehe Road in Wujie Township, Yilan County. The park's design was completed and construction began in 1987. It opened on June 3, 1993, and was officially dedicated on June 13, 1994. The 24-kilometer Dongshan River basin is designed as a riverside recreation area offering diverse activities, recreation, and leisure. The park is divided into three sections: upper, middle, and lower, each offering distinct recreational features. The theme of the park is "Close to Water, Embracing Greenery." The park fully utilizes the unique characteristics of the water, integrating water and greenery into an open space, transforming it into a park for education, sightseeing, leisure, and enjoyment.
Dongshan River Water Park boasts a tropical marine climate. The water play area and river tour are the most eye-catching features of the park. Visitors can also experience the thrills of new water sports facilities, including a wading pool, a rowing pool, an open-air theater, an observatory, a moon-viewing platform, and a camping area. The innovative swimming pool is especially inviting, allowing adults and children to indulge in the water world and have endless fun. It is a perfect place to visit in all seasons.

The park is usually less crowded during weekdays, especially in the morning. Weekends and public holidays tend to be busier with local visitors. The least crowded months are generally in the winter and early spring.
The park has basic facilities including toilets, rest areas, and picnic spots. There are no large shops, but small food stalls and drink vendors are available on-site. It is recommended to bring your own water and snacks if you plan to spend more time in the park.
