Dhonakulhi Island is located in the Haa Alifu Atoll north of Male . The island is 1.4 kilometers long and 500 meters wide. It takes 55 minutes by seaplane and then a 20- minute speedboat to reach it. It is one of the few hotels on the atoll.

This resort opened on August 1, 2005 , offering six different styles of villas. The island is a peaceful retreat, tranquil and beautiful. Renovated in 2013 , it features 50 new standard overwater bungalows and five deluxe overwater bungalows. Two of the original overwater bungalows were converted into suites.
