As the name suggests, a new port is a newly established port that promotes domestic maritime trade and international ocean trade, and promotes economic prosperity and social progress through trade.

Nyhavn is an artificial canal, built between 1669 and 1673, that brings seawater directly to King's Nytorv. Its primary purpose was to bring maritime traffic into the city center, thereby boosting Copenhagen's economy. One of the earliest houses built along the canal can still be seen, but Nyhavn today has undergone a complete transformation. The sunny side has been transformed into a pedestrian street, and the old sailors' pubs have been replaced by delightful restaurants.
