i'm hoping to spend 3 weeks in Tibet in Sep 23 and am seeking a reliable Tibetan travel agency to provide an English speaking guide. If anyone has experience of one, I'd appreciate some intel. Thanks, Jossi
We went in May 2019 and used Spinn Cafe who were extremely helpful organising a customised itinerary for us and organising all the permits. Not sure what their status is since the pandemic but worth checking out. I have the private phone number of our guide which I can also share on DM as he said he can organise private tours. He was a lovely local who was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a brilliant 4 days.
Hi Jossi C,
Im planning to return to Tibet (TAR) on 1st October, flying from Melbourne.
Previously I used the agency Explore Tibet, a Tibetan agency based in Lhasa.
I can confidently recommend them to you.
Im currently in the process of joining their 15 day tour , including 3 day trek/Kora around Mt Kailash . If you havent decided on an agency yet, I suggest checking out their website and maybe
contacting them via email .
On face book you can search YoWangdu Experience Tibet. for some excellent advice...if tou havent already stumbled across them. They are a married couple, Lobsang Tibetan and Yolanda American.
Happy planning

I am using Tibetan Guide service recommended by lonely planet. I am going in September as a solo traveler. They’ve been wonderful. I will have an English speaking guide. I am also doing the Mt Kailash Kora and will have a horse and Guide to carry my gear.
Can you give me the number please
For our 9 person Amdo & Kham tour we used Road to Tibet agency, family owned and operated since 2007 with 2000 arranged tours in TAR and 80 in Eastern Tibet, Amdo and Kham.
