Hemkund Sahib Yatra from UK
Are there any UK based travel agencies that arrange or do an escorted Hemkund Sahib yatra? I can find other religious escorted yatra tours but not one for Hemkund Sahib. Any help appreciated.
I would recommend to check for Tour Operators from Haridwar / Rishikesh who usually do the Char Dham Yatra Tours as Hemkund Sahib trekking point starts from Badrinath. Few years back when i visited Badrinath I could see people starting their trekking to Hemkund Sahib & Valley of Flowers from there its like 3 kms before Badrinath so they should be able to arrange it.
Thank you very much for your reply RatnaPrasad but I was hoping to find Tour Operators based in England that could arrange this for us. Or give us advice. Has anyone in England on these forums done the Hemkund Yatra very recently that could give us advice please? Thank you
Hi there, I am sure there are Tour Operators but most likely they are based in India itself. I have travel to Hemkund Sahib myself without any Tour Operators. Just ensure you have a very reliable driver who could pick you up either from Delhi or Amritsar airport, who is experience enough to drive to Hemkund and back. The road journey is quiet easy (unless there is a landslide) therefor avoid the rainy seasons. And those drivers would be able to advise you the do and don'ts. Facility wise, it is there and its improving every year. Travel in a small group (small family) and hire a decent vehicle which gives you the comfort and security. There is a lot of literature that are available on the internet which will help, just be mentally positive, all will be well. Good luck.
