10 hour layover Chengdu International Airport
I am booking Airchina flights, Singapore to Korla, Xinjiang, which has a 10 hour transit at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport . 1st flight arrives at T1 and 2nd flight departs at T2. I am wondering if our baggage will be checked through? Also, wonder if we are allowed to exit the Terminal to check into a nearby airport hotel for some rest. I will appreciate if anyone can advise? Thanks!
Normally when booking internal flights in China or flights originating in China with the first leg in China or flights originating outside China but with the last leg in China then Trip(dot)com is stating this somewhere during the booking process concerning baggage through-check-in. You could always book directly with the airline or on another booking website but I would look what they are writing on Trip(dot)com for your particular flights.
Edited: 1 year agoThe airport hotel is between T1 and T2. So when you arrive you will have to go from T1, where the international flights arrive and depart, to T2, which is for domestic flights. So you will pass the airport hotel, when going from T to T2. In January I arrived at T2 and my flight was the next day from T1. So I booked and stayed at the airport hotel.

Hi Tibetoveralways. Thanks for advice. I have just booked our Airchina flights and was pleasantly surprised that they came with a free hotel stay assigned by them. However, we were not assigned one of the 2 hotels between T1 and T2 which will be more convenient. We were assigned ChengduJianyang Derunda Hotel at 326 Fengshan Road which is supposedly a 30 minutes' ride away. So right now, we are contemplating if we should forgo that and just book the hotel between T1 and T2.
With a 10 hour layover I would forgo that en just book the hotel between T1 and T2. It's more relaxing because it's quite a distance between Tianfu Airport and Chengdu. But it's also depends on what time you arrive and what time you depart again. I had to stay the night over but I had to leave my room at the hotel at 12 o'clock.
Hi Tibetloveralways. Yes i agree with you that being able to walk to the hotel is more seamless. Our flight lands at 8 pm and leaves at 7 am the next morning. We will get more sleep hours without the need to wait for transport and travelling time both ways.
Then I definitely would choose to stay at the airport hotel. And the rooms are very comfortable there.
Is it possible to get from the Panda Centre to TFU Airport quickly after a brief early visit?

Hello did you need a visa for the 10hr lay over?mine is 12hrs and I get in at 5.30am and leave the next morning at 1.30
