4. Be sure to wear a helmet and watch out cars.

Hey Leslie,

Good to see another cyclist on this forum and what a good timing. I just finished my jeju ride a week ago so i should be able to give you an up to date info. And I also walked the Olle trail (which also follows the coastline of jeju island) three times!

From the way you worded your questions, it seems like you want to mix sightseeing with cycling, which is what I did as well. So I am going to assume you have reserved enough days for such.

I did the ride in four days(btw 45km~80km) in respect to the difficulty/condition of the day(whether it's the first day-to get you warmed up, or the last-to take it easy before the flight).

The two major cities are jeju-si and seogwipo-si( i know it's a bit confusing becausethey share name with the two districts(jeju island is divided into two districts across the horizontal line placed on top of halla mountain)).

You will be landing in jeju-si and depending on the time of your arrival you could carry out the first segment of the four day ride. You have to ride counter clock-wise because the bike lane is on the sea-side of the road( and also it's easier for you to stop and take a photo). Don't worry about food because there will be about a billion cafes, convenient stores, and restaurants along the path.

Download kakaomap to view the links I am giving you.

Day.1 Jeju-si to Moseulpo, 68km, elevation gain 405m.

Hotel: hotel kenny moseulpo(small but clean and modern rooms, ~$40 US)

Very easy flats with few small hills. Lots of sandy beach and chill cafes.

Point of interest: Iho tewoo, Gwakji beach, Cafe Cola( great pit stop), Hyupjae beach, cacti nature trail(

Lunch: 한림칼국수 try their seaweed noodle (

If you enjoy sashimi, dinner at "미영이네" (https://kko.to/a2NDVjlUDb) is a must.

Day 2. Moseulpo to Seogwipo, 43.62km

Hotel: Golden Daisy Seogwipo (roomy, a bit outdated but clean and central ~$40US)

Definitely a climbing day, try to stick to the bike path and pedestrian road whilst climbing switch backs. Cars are unforgiving and barbaric sometimes, best not to deal with would-be-murderers.

Point of unterest: Songak mountain(make sure you ride into the park, there is a nice paved road all the waya to the viewpoint, https://kko.to/L0S1oEi5-4), Sanbang Mountain and its cave buddhist temple,

Oedolgae (not much to see but a lot of tourist visit), Seogwipo market( take a stroll through the market after dinner, vendors are open till 7 or 8pm).

MAKE SURE you try the local black pig bbq at (

Day 3. Seogwipo to Woljeong, 72km.

Hotel:O2heal hotel

Endless flats. Trust the well paved road and do your Aero PRs. The beach front bike paths are incredbly scenic.

Sites of interest: pyoseon beach, Seongsan crater(most visited place in jeju), the small villages you path through.

Dinner: tennessee table (great burger) or 인손(

** please make sure you have your spare tyreSS and patch kit. I personally had two flats, one of them ended being a half inch tear, which meant I had to change the tyre. Jeju is notorious for having highest number of vehicle accidents. Be VERY careful when you ride into the road. Be prepared to ride through four seasons: weather changes rapidly and drastically.

I am going to give you a number to call IF EVERYTHING fails and you need a pickup. He might charge you more depending on where you are, but he usually charges $15. This guy used to be a pro cyclist and now runss a bike rental shop in jeju-si.

Hello! I'm doing research on bicycle touring in Jeju-do in late March into early April, and possibly doing the Incheon to Busan route. Your post didn't have day 4 but I'm assuming that it's the final day of riding from Woljeong to Jeju-si. Do you have any recommendations on places to stop that day for food and if there's any sightseeing that shouldn't be missed? Any tips on flying with your bike to/from Seoul? 감사합니다.
