I applied to the e visa for my upcoming trip to India. I checked the application status and saw that my visa was granted. So I printed the PDF with the photo and QR code on it.
However, I see everywhere that the actual ETA is the email, but I never received this email, no idea why. I’ve been trying to reach by email and over the phone for days but no luck.
I don’t know what to do, my trip is in 4 days and I’m worried that they won’t let me into the country if I’ve only got the pdf and not the email.
Anyone been in this situation before? Do they always check just the email or does the off also work fine?
//However, I see everywhere that the actual ETA is the email, //
That’s incorrect.
//So I printed the PDF with the photo and QR code on it.//
That is all you will need. Take a couple of copies.

hello i have the same concern. i applied a visa for my husband today but he didn't received any acknowledgement email. How's your travel? were you allowed to enter in india with that only? coz my husband will travel also in 4 days and we are worried coz he'll only travel just to take an examination. I travelled in India last november 2023 but i received an acknowledgement email starting with the temporary id, until i got the application id and everything. but with my husband it was just weird and thinking maybe we were scammed coz we haven't receive any email. also one more thing in the airport counter they will check the email. Please help what happened during your travel without any email from them. thanks..
Assuming you used the official eVisa website, go back into it and check his status. If he has been approved you MUST print the actual ETA out from there. You do not any acknowledgement email if you have been approved. See end of this guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cYa3zqEjsWHzL-MRPnDRPZPZiaHusG6Sk7eUrQScccc/edit
Hi, i am in a similar situation right now, could you please update then how did you do ?
I applied for an Evisa for my wife, and within 24 hours I received an email enquiring about her occupation and marriage certificate, so I responded. But after that, it has been more than 48 hours now, with no response from Evisa support, and it's frustrating, as already purchased all the tickets for the whole family!
Check the visa status on the website. https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/StatusEnquiry
Thank you for your valuable information, if we check the visa status, there is no progress on the website, it's just the same message that your application is submitted, and your visa will be processed in 72 hours, however, nothing happened, it more than 4 days now, so frustrating, ANY OTHER HELP OR INFO?
Thank you so much!
What did you enter for her occupation?
House wife.
Ok ... that shouldn't be the issue then. Who knows ... All you can do is keep trying to contact them - there's really nothing anyone on here can do. In my experience ... if it hits the 4 day mark - it's most likely been rejected. (Having gone through 3 e-visa rejections in the past 8 months with my partner.)
