Looking for Vegan Restaurant suggestions
We eat plant based which I am assuming might be hard to find in Savannah...but can anyone give suggestions on what restaurants would be good for us?
While Savannah is historically known for its Southern cuisine, the city has steadily expanded its plant-based and vegan-friendly dining options. You can find a mix of fully vegan restaurants as well as eateries with strong vegan selections.
Here are some notable places to consider:
- Fox & Fig Cafe – A fully vegan cafe offering a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dessert options, including smoothie bowls, wraps, sandwiches, and decadent vegan pastries.
- Kayak Kafé – Focused on fresh, local ingredients, this spot has vegan-friendly breakfast and lunch options. Great for light, healthy meals.
- The Sentient Bean – A coffeehouse with a vegetarian and vegan menu, featuring wraps, sandwiches, and salads. Excellent for a casual brunch or coffee stop.
- Vegan Sweet Tooth Bakery – Perfect if you are craving plant-based desserts, cupcakes, cookies, and other treats.
- Green Truck Neighborhood Pub – A casual pub with some creative vegan options like Impossible burgers, plant-based tacos, and vegan sides.
Additionally, many restaurants in the Historic District are willing to accommodate vegan requests even if they aren’t fully vegan. Calling ahead or checking menus online can ensure you have plenty of options. Also, local markets and juice bars often carry vegan snacks and meals if you prefer a lighter or take-away option.
- Consider checking out Sentient Bean for coffee and light meals.
- Look at Fox & Fig Cafe for brunch or lunch, as it’s fully vegan.
- If interested in Southern-style vegan options, ask local Southern restaurants about plant-based substitutions; many will adapt.
Overall, while Savannah may not have as many vegan restaurants as larger cities, there are several great options that cater well to plant-based diets without limiting your experience of the city’s culinary scene.
