Reservations

I made a reservation for our 36th anniversary dinner at The Olde Pink House but I was wondering if I need reservations for the other restaurants for dinners? We will be there end of March beginning of April.

Visiting Savannah at the end of March and beginning of April is a popular time, as the weather is pleasant and the city often sees a boost in tourism due to spring breaks and festivals. Because of this, it’s generally a good idea to make dinner reservations, especially at well-known or highly rated restaurants.

For casual or less busy spots, reservations may not be strictly necessary, but for upscale dining, themed restaurants, or places in the Historic District, securing a table ahead of time ensures you won’t face long waits or fully booked evenings.

  • Highly recommended to reserve: Restaurants such as Elizabeth on 37th, Husk Savannah, Treylor Park, Alligator Soul, and other popular spots in the Historic District often book up fast.
  • Casual spots: Cafes, local bistros, or smaller taverns may accept walk-ins, but calling ahead or checking availability online is still wise.
  • Special celebrations: Since you’re celebrating a 36th anniversary, making reservations ensures a stress-free, memorable evening, especially if you want a specific time or seating preference.

Many restaurants offer online booking through platforms like OpenTable, Resy, or directly via their website. It’s advisable to check the restaurant’s cancellation policies in case your plans change.

In summary, while some spots may accommodate walk-ins, for popular or high-end dining in Savannah during spring, reservations are strongly recommended to guarantee a smooth dining experience.
