If you're looking for an overnight stay near Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) with easy access to a sports bar or pub, there are a few convenient options. Here are some suggestions that offer a good balance of proximity to the airport and places to relax with a drink and watch sports:
1. The Thunderbird Inn
- The Thunderbird Inn is a charming, retro-style hotel located just 15-20 minutes from the airport. It’s an affordable, quirky option with a fun, vintage vibe.
- Although it's not immediately next to the airport, it’s close to downtown Savannah, where you’ll find several sports bars and pubs, such as The Rail Pub or McDonough’s—both popular spots for watching sports and grabbing a drink.
- The hotel offers free parking, and while it’s not within walking distance to the airport, it’s very convenient if you want to be close to Savannah's nightlife in a casual, laid-back setting.
2. Comfort Inn & Suites Savannah Airport
- For a hotel closer to the Savannah Airport, the Comfort Inn & Suites Savannah Airport is a great choice. This hotel is located just a short drive from the airport, and it offers free shuttle service to the airport.
- While there’s no immediate walking distance to a sports bar, the hotel is close to the Fox & Hound Pub & Grille located nearby in Pooler, which is known for its casual dining, sports TVs, and drink specials.
- This hotel offers a comfortable stay with a range of amenities and could be an ideal base if you prefer to stay near the airport and then grab a ride to a sports bar nearby.
3. Hyatt Place Savannah Airport
- Another option is the Hyatt Place Savannah Airport, located just minutes from the Savannah airport. The hotel offers modern amenities, including an outdoor pool, fitness center, and complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport.
- For food and drinks, there’s a Sports Bar located nearby, including The Pooler Sports Bar & Grill, where you can enjoy a cold drink and catch the game.
- This hotel provides a good balance of comfort, convenience, and proximity to both the airport and local dining options.
4. Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Airport
- Located near the airport, the Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Airport offers a comfortable and convenient place to stay. It’s only about a 10-minute drive from the airport and offers a range of amenities, including an on-site restaurant and bar.
- Although there are no sports bars within walking distance, you can easily drive to nearby places like The Oaks Bar & Grill or other local sports-focused bars in the area.
- This hotel also offers shuttle service to the airport, making it a great option if you want to stay close to the airport while still having access to nearby dining and entertainment options.
5. Staybridge Suites Savannah Airport
- Located close to the airport, Staybridge Suites offers a range of amenities for a comfortable stay, including a fitness center, a full kitchen, and complimentary breakfast.
- While it’s not directly within walking distance of a sports bar, there are plenty of options nearby. Tybee Island Social Club is a little further away, but a great spot for a casual meal and drinks if you’re willing to drive a bit.
- This hotel is a great option if you want to stay near the airport and prefer a more home-like experience with amenities that allow you to relax and enjoy your stay.
While there are no hotels right next to sports bars or pubs, all of these options are within a short drive of places where you can catch a game and grab a drink. Most of them also offer convenient shuttle services to the airport, which makes them ideal for your needs. If you prefer walking distance to both the airport and a pub, you may need to compromise on being further away from the airport but closer to Savannah’s nightlife. Enjoy your trip and have a great time in Savannah!
