Lively during the week too?

Thinking of taking a quick trip to see Savannah in April. However hubby and I love live music. Last year we did Key West and loved it! My question is: is it lively during the week as well as it appears flights are much cheaper weekdays. Tysm

Savannah is a charming city with a great mix of Southern hospitality, historic charm, and lively entertainment. While weekends are typically more bustling, you’ll still find plenty to do during the week, especially if you love live music! Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:

Liveliness during the Week:

Yes, Savannah remains lively throughout the week, although it can be quieter compared to weekends when tourists flock to the city. However, weekdays can actually offer a more relaxed atmosphere, which might be perfect for enjoying live music without the weekend crowds. Many venues host live music even during the week, and April is a great time to visit as the weather is pleasant, and the city starts to come alive with spring events.

Live Music Venues During the Week:

Several venues in Savannah host live music regularly, and many of them offer performances throughout the week. Here are some places you can check out:

  • The Jinx: A popular spot for local and traveling bands, The Jinx is known for its great live music scene. They often have performances on weekdays, especially in the evening.
  • Kevin Barry's Pub: Located on River Street, Kevin Barry’s offers live music most nights of the week. They have a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy good food and drinks while listening to local bands.
  • Jazz’d Tapas Bar: For a more intimate setting, Jazz’d offers live jazz and other music on weekdays. It’s a fantastic place to enjoy a small plate and a glass of wine while listening to some great tunes.
  • The Stage on Bay: Another spot that has live music during the week. They often host a variety of genres including rock, country, and blues.

Other Activities during the Week:

While Savannah is known for its history, scenic squares, and riverfront, there are also plenty of events and things to do during weekdays. If you're visiting in April, the weather will be perfect for exploring. Take a stroll through the historic district, visit Forsyth Park, or check out some local art galleries and museums.

  • Forsyth Park: While not a live music venue, Forsyth Park is a beautiful space to walk around. It’s perfect for a daytime visit if you want to enjoy some quiet time before heading to a live music show.
  • Savannah Music Festival: If your visit aligns with the dates of the Savannah Music Festival (usually in March or April), you may catch some amazing performances during the week. It's one of the biggest cultural events in the city, featuring a variety of genres.
  • River Street: There are often live performances on the street, with bands playing in open-air spaces or at bars. It's a lively place for people-watching and enjoying street musicians.

Conclusion:

While Savannah is generally busier on weekends, you will still find the city lively and full of character during the week, especially if you enjoy live music. The venues mentioned above are just a few examples where you can find entertainment during weekdays. And, with cheaper flights and fewer crowds, weekdays in Savannah can offer a more relaxed, yet still fun, experience. Enjoy your trip!
