Northville MI. for Woodward Cruise

I am planning on attending the Woodward cruise this year . Could anyone tell me what the Northville area is like for a couple night stay( Farmington Hills ) . My biggest concern is the security of my classic vehicle that I will be driving while there .

Thanks in advance

Northville and the surrounding Farmington Hills area are generally considered safe, quiet, and suburban, making them a good choice for a couple of nights during the Woodward Cruise. The neighborhoods have well-maintained streets, local amenities, and a friendly community atmosphere. Most visitors find the area convenient for accessing the Woodward Cruise route and downtown Detroit if needed.

Regarding accommodations and vehicle security:

  • Many hotels in the Northville and Farmington Hills area offer parking lots that are well-lit and monitored, though they may not have dedicated security for vehicles. If you are bringing a classic car, it’s wise to check with the hotel in advance about secure or covered parking options.
  • Some local hotels and motels offer gated parking or valet service, which can provide additional peace of mind for high-value or classic vehicles.
  • Street parking in the Northville downtown area is generally safe during the day, but overnight parking in public areas is less secure for a classic vehicle.

Additional tips to ensure your vehicle is safe:

  • Consider bringing a car cover to protect it from the elements and reduce attention from passersby.
  • Use steering wheel locks or wheel locks if you’ll be leaving the car unattended for extended periods.
  • Arrive early to find parking near hotels or areas with good lighting, ideally with camera surveillance.

Overall, Northville and Farmington Hills are suitable for a short stay, offering a mix of convenience, safety, and suburban charm. For classic car enthusiasts, taking these precautionary steps should allow you to enjoy the Woodward Cruise without undue concern about your vehicle.
