Located at No. 18 Nanming East Road in Guiyang , this English-style villa, dating back to the Republican era, is one of many built in Nanming Hall during the 1930s . Designed and constructed by Shanghai architect Tao Guilin, it has now been converted into an English-style teahouse.
Over time, the original Nanmingtang villa complex was demolished, leaving only this English-style villa intact. It bears witness to the city's development and changes, and also attests to the state of Guiyang's luxury housing in the 1930s and 1940s.
The villa is a garden-style house with a brick-and-wood structure and red tiles. It is two stories tall, with windows on all four sides. The exterior walls are grout-finished, while the interior walls are whitewashed. There are 10 main rooms , all paved with zelkova wood flooring. The dining room and living room feature elegant, clearly patterned parquet floors, and the living room boasts a fireplace.
