The Cliffs Lodge

We were in Bass Pro Shop and we were talked into buying a Bluegreen 2 night vacation deal. When I confirmed my dates we were booked at The Cliffs Lodge which is not the place I thought we purchased. We have to go on some “tour”. Has anyone else ever done this? If so, could you tell me how your experience was and what to expect? Thank you

Purchasing a vacation package through Bluegreen Vacation Club at locations like Bass Pro Shops can sometimes be confusing, especially if you expected one resort but ended up booked at another property, such as The Cliffs Lodge. These packages typically require attending a short sales presentation or “tour” in exchange for discounted or complimentary nights.

Here’s what you can generally expect based on experiences shared by other travelers:

  • Sales Presentation: The main requirement is attending a presentation about Bluegreen Vacation Club. This usually lasts between 90 minutes and 2 hours. It is a sales pitch aimed at getting you to join the vacation ownership program.
  • No Obligation to Buy: While the presentation is persuasive, you are under no obligation to purchase anything. Many people attend, listen to the information, and politely decline.
  • Questions and Offers: Expect detailed questions about your vacation habits and preferences, followed by offers for special membership rates or bonuses if you sign up during the presentation. They may emphasize limited-time offers to encourage commitment.
  • Timing and Scheduling: You’ll typically need to schedule your presentation in advance. Sometimes it can be the day of check-in, or they may give you flexibility during your stay.
  • Resort Amenities: Once the presentation is complete, you can enjoy the resort and your included nights. The Cliffs Lodge is located in Ridgedale and offers comfortable lodging, on-site amenities, and easy access to Table Rock Lake and other local attractions.

Tips for a smoother experience:

  • Be prepared for the presentation, but don’t feel pressured — many attendees leave without making a purchase.
  • Ask clearly about which resort you are booked at and confirm amenities and check-in details before arriving.
  • Consider planning your local activities around the presentation time, so it doesn’t disrupt sightseeing or relaxation.
  • Read the fine print on your Bluegreen package to understand the terms, dates, and any additional requirements.

In summary, attending a Bluegreen sales “tour” is standard for these discounted vacation packages. The presentation can be lengthy and persuasive, but you are not required to buy. Once complete, you can enjoy your stay at The Cliffs Lodge with access to resort amenities and nearby attractions in the Ridgedale area.
