Looking for store

Help! Many years ago I used to stop at a produce/fruit market when I went downstate to Saginaw. I had forgotten about it til tonight and have gone searching but cant find it and it may have gone out of business?? It was located on 84 somewhere between exit 160 for Delta College and Tittabawassee. If I remember right it was seasonal and at the farm the grew most the produce. It was bigger then a fruit stand at the side of the road but was nothing extra modern or fancy. I know this is not much to go on but any help would be great TIA

Finding a specific produce or fruit market that was seasonal and located on I-84 (assuming you mean M-84) between Delta College (exit 160) and Tittabawassee can be tricky, especially if it has been out of business for years. Many of the small, family-run farm markets in this area have closed or changed ownership over time, which may explain why you can’t find it online.

Some options to try for locating or identifying the market include checking local historical records, community boards, or social media groups dedicated to Bay County and Saginaw area memories. Longtime residents often share tips about past local businesses.

  • Check Bay City and Saginaw Facebook groups or Nextdoor community boards asking if anyone remembers a seasonal farm market along M-84 between Delta College and Tittabawassee.
  • Look into old local newspapers or classifieds archives; markets often advertised their seasonal produce in print.
  • Contact the Saginaw County or Bay County Chamber of Commerce for information on historic or long-standing local farms that had roadside markets.

As an alternative, if your goal is simply to visit a similar market today, there are a few local farms and produce markets along M-84 or nearby roads that offer fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables during summer and fall:

  • Red Wagon Farms – Known for seasonal produce and located near Saginaw, typically open from mid-summer through fall.
  • Hartzler Farm Market – A larger roadside farm market offering fresh fruits, vegetables, and baked goods.
  • Meridian Produce or other roadside stands along M-84 – Seasonal and family-run, may vary year to year.

While the original market you remember may no longer exist, these options can provide a similar nostalgic experience and fresh local produce. Calling ahead to confirm seasonal hours is recommended, as most of these markets are open only during peak harvest months.
