Hi, This is a simple question, I hope.
We plan to visit the JFK Museum and Library in Boston and it appears to be a direct trip on the Redline from Downtown to reach it.
The schedule shows Ashmont and Braintree … are these at the same location or which is best to get to the museum.
Also, is there a shuttle to the museum from there?
Much appreciated.
It's great to hear you're planning a visit to the JFK Museum and Library in Boston! Here’s the detailed information to help with your trip from McKinley Square to the museum:
1) Ashmont vs. Braintree on the Red Line
The Red Line has two branches: Ashmont and Braintree. Both are part of the same Red Line, but they go in different directions, and they do not share the same location. However, when traveling to the JFK Museum and Library, you’ll want to take the Braintree branch. Here’s how it works:
2) Getting Off at the JFK/UMass Station
The JFK/UMass station is the closest stop to the JFK Museum and Library. Once you reach this stop, you’ll need to transfer to the #47 or #8 bus for a short ride to the museum. The museum is only a few minutes away from the subway station by bus.
3) Shuttle Service to the Museum
There is no direct shuttle service from the JFK/UMass station to the museum itself. However, the #47 bus is a quick and convenient option, as it runs directly from the JFK/UMass station to the museum. Buses typically run every 10-15 minutes during the day. Alternatively, if you prefer walking, it’s about a 20-minute walk from the JFK/UMass station to the JFK Museum, which is located in a scenic area of Boston.
Summary:
Hope this helps with your plans, and enjoy your visit to the JFK Museum and Library!
