Hotel stay for 9 hour layover

During memorial day weekend, we have red eye flight from West coast to BOS arriving at 8 AM.

Then 9 hour layover and continuing further to Dubai.

We are 2 adults and 1 kid.

If we want to take rest/sleep and get shower before the flight to Dubai, what are the options available near airport?

Thanks.

During your 9-hour layover in Boston, you’ll have a few good options to rest, sleep, and freshen up before your next long-haul flight to Dubai. Given your need for some downtime and the fact that you're traveling with a child, here are a few convenient options near Logan Airport for a comfortable layover:

  • Airport Hotels: There are a few hotels located very close to Boston Logan International Airport that offer day-use options or hourly rates, ideal for a layover. Some popular choices include:
    • Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor - Located just a short distance from the airport, this hotel offers a great view of the harbor and quick access to Logan. They often have day-use rooms available, where you can rest and freshen up. This would be ideal for your family, as it offers comfortable amenities and a relaxing atmosphere.
    • Hilton Boston Logan Airport - This is located directly connected to the airport by a covered walkway, so it’s very convenient. They have a range of room types, and you can inquire about booking a room for a few hours to rest and shower. Many airport hotels offer short-stay rates during the day, especially for travelers on long layovers.
    • Courtyard by Marriott Boston Logan Airport - Another close option with easy access to Logan, offering comfortable rooms and a relaxing environment. They also offer shuttle services if you need to get from the terminal to the hotel.
  • Airport Lounge (for access to showers and rest areas): Some airport lounges offer showers, comfy seating, and other amenities that might help you relax and freshen up without needing to leave the airport.
    • The Lounge at Logan - Located in Terminal A, this lounge provides access to showers, a quiet area, and food/drinks. If you’re flying with an airline that has a lounge in Terminal A or have access through a lounge membership (such as Priority Pass), this could be a good option to refresh during your layover. You can inquire about access policies and availability.
    • United Club (Terminal C) - If you're flying United, their club lounge offers showers and other amenities. Access is typically available for United premium passengers or those with lounge memberships like Priority Pass.
  • Day Rooms or Napping Pods: While there are no traditional nap pods available in Logan Airport itself, there are services in some airports where you can rent a "nap pod" or a private rest space for a few hours. While Logan doesn't have this service currently, it’s worth checking with airport customer service for any updates or local services that may offer such amenities.

To summarize, the best options for you and your family would likely be:

  • Booking a day-use room at one of the nearby airport hotels (Hyatt Regency or Hilton Boston Logan Airport). These hotels are both close to the airport and would provide you with the comfort of privacy and space for sleeping and showering.
  • Considering an airport lounge with shower facilities if you prefer to stay within the airport. Lounges can provide a quieter space to relax and freshen up during the layover.

Since your layover is fairly long (9 hours), staying in a hotel would provide the most relaxation and convenience, especially with a child. Most hotels near Logan will allow you to check in early if you call ahead, and the amenities like showers and comfortable beds will make a big difference during your layover. Enjoy your time in Boston and have a great flight to Dubai!
