July 4, 2025 visit with trailer

Hello all,

We are driving thru Saint Louis with a small motorcycle trailer around July 4. We would like to stay a few days since we have never been there. Any recommendations on a hotel where we can drop the trailer and explore using our car or use uber/lift? Need a safe place since it's my bike! We have locking stuff for the trailer and bike. We also have account/points on Marriott so that's preferred. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We are in our 60s but very active and mobile so don't mind walking everywhere.

Where are the fireworks on July 4? I would like to see them so would like to be able to get there easily and back to the hotel safely.

It’s great that you’re planning a trip to St. Louis! Here are some suggestions for your stay, along with tips for parking your trailer and enjoying the 4th of July festivities:

Hotels with Safe Parking for Your Trailer: For a safe and convenient stay with your motorcycle trailer, you’ll want a hotel that has good parking and is near downtown attractions. Since you prefer Marriott, here are some great options:

  • Courtyard by Marriott St. Louis Downtown/Convention Center This hotel is centrally located, and while it doesn't have dedicated trailer parking, they do have a parking garage and may be able to accommodate your trailer. You can call ahead to confirm. It’s close to public transportation, and you'll be able to use Uber/Lyft to get around the city easily.
  • Residence Inn by Marriott St. Louis Downtown This is another great option for longer stays, with spacious rooms and close proximity to downtown St. Louis. The hotel may have more flexible parking options, and their location is excellent for exploring the city.
  • St. Louis Marriott Grand This hotel is located in the heart of downtown and provides a safe and secure place to stay. It has valet parking, but you should check with them regarding trailer accommodations. The location makes it easy to access key attractions and transportation services like Uber and Lyft.

Trailer Parking: Before booking, I’d recommend calling ahead to discuss parking options for your trailer. Some Marriott hotels may have parking garages or surface lots nearby where trailers can be parked, though they might not always be able to accommodate trailers in the hotel’s direct parking. Alternatively, you might want to park your trailer at a nearby RV park or lot with secured parking and take an Uber or Lyft to the hotel.

Fireworks on July 4, 2025: St. Louis has an exciting July 4th celebration, and the fireworks display is typically held at the Gateway Arch National Park or near the Mississippi Riverfront. Here are the key spots:

  • Gateway Arch National Park: The fireworks show is often set off near the Arch, making it a fantastic location for viewing. You’ll be able to get great views of the Arch and the fireworks display. You can either walk or take an Uber/Lyft to this area from downtown hotels.
  • Mississippi Riverfront: Another prime spot for fireworks viewing is the riverfront, which has a wide open space and lots of visitors. The area around the Arch and the river should be easy to access and filled with crowds enjoying the event.

Getting to the Fireworks: Since you’re in your 60s but active, walking to the fireworks show from the hotel might be enjoyable, especially if you’re staying downtown. If you prefer not to walk too far, using Uber or Lyft to get to the viewing area is a great option. Traffic can be congested around the fireworks, so using ride-sharing services might be more convenient than parking in the area.

Additional Tips: - Safety: Make sure to lock up your trailer and bike, and if possible, ask the hotel about safe or secured parking areas. - Dining and Exploring: St. Louis has some fantastic locally owned restaurants and attractions, such as the Missouri Botanical Garden, the St. Louis Art Museum, and the St. Louis Zoo, which are all excellent options for exploring. - Public Transport: St. Louis has a Metrolink light rail system and buses that can help you get around the city if you want to avoid driving or using Uber/Lyft.
