Ellis Island update

We will be arriving 7 short days from today, staying 3 nights at Vdara, comped except for the rest fee. We like to walk over to Ellis Island or Uber if its too hot(not likely th is time) or too cold, more likely, for some $5 craps action. Had seen posts last month about construction and its effect on table games, anyone been there recently, say within the last week, that can give a report? Thanks in advance

Ellis Island is a great spot for casual, affordable gambling, and I understand you’re eager to get some $5 craps action. There were some construction updates recently, but from what I’ve heard in the past week, things have been improving as they continue to renovate and upgrade the property.

As for the table games, Ellis Island has indeed been undergoing renovations in certain areas, especially around the casino floor. This might have temporarily affected some of the table games and amenities. However, based on recent reports, most of the construction seems to be focused on their new expansion area, which includes a new brewery and upgraded dining options. The main casino area with the craps tables and other games has been functional, though there may be some minor adjustments in seating or availability depending on the exact timing of your visit.

  • Table Games: The craps tables are still active, and there have been no major disruptions to the game offerings. While you may find some areas under renovation, there have been no reports of significant closures to the core casino games you enjoy.
  • Atmosphere: The vibe at Ellis Island remains pretty casual and fun. The construction hasn’t significantly impacted the overall atmosphere, and most visitors seem to appreciate the upgrades they’re making, particularly the new spaces for dining and entertainment.
  • Location: You’ll find that walking from Vdara to Ellis Island is definitely doable, especially if the weather is mild. The walk isn’t too long and gives you a good chance to stretch your legs and take in some of the Strip before hitting the casino.

If you’re planning to visit during the cooler months, Ellis Island should be a comfortable, relaxed option for some good table action. If it’s a bit too cold to walk, an Uber is always a good choice, and it’s just a quick ride. I’d suggest checking their website or calling ahead for the most up-to-date info on table game availability if you're concerned about any last-minute changes due to ongoing renovations.

Overall, it looks like Ellis Island is still going strong, with construction only affecting certain areas outside of the main gaming sections. Enjoy your trip and have a great time at the craps tables!
