Westgate monorail station from Fontainebleau
We are considering staying at Fontainebleau this trip and wondered how easy it is to access the Westgate monorail station. Google Maps shows that it’s a 15 minute walk, but that walk takes you through the front entrance, which seems out of the way. Is there a back entrance that makes it quicker to reach the station?
Staying at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas puts you in a great location for access to the Westgate Monorail station. However, as you've noticed, the walk from the Fontainebleau to the station does take a bit of a detour through the front entrance of the property, which isn't the most direct route.
Here’s some information about getting to the Westgate Monorail station from Fontainebleau:
- Direct Route via Main Entrance: If you take the main entrance of the Fontainebleau, you’ll likely be walking through the front and entering the parking area. This is the longer route that takes about 15 minutes as Google Maps shows. It will bring you to the Westgate Monorail station, but it's a bit out of the way.
- Back Entrance: As of now, there isn’t a direct back entrance to the Fontainebleau that leads more directly to the Westgate Monorail station. However, there are some smaller paths and side roads you can use that cut down on walking distance slightly. While not a major shortcut, these might save a minute or two.
- Alternative Option - Ride Share or Taxi: If you're looking to save time, especially if you're in a hurry or don’t want to walk too far, you could take a quick ride share (Uber or Lyft) or a taxi. It’s a short ride from Fontainebleau to the Westgate station, and this option could be more convenient if the weather isn’t favorable or if you're traveling with luggage.
- Walking with Monorail Stops: If you want to experience the monorail from a different angle, you could also walk to the Sahara Monorail station, which is about a 10-15 minute walk in the opposite direction. That would give you access to the monorail system without the need to walk as far from the Fontainebleau side.
While the Fontainebleau is a bit removed from the Westgate Monorail station, it’s still manageable, but keep in mind that the walk might take a little longer than expected. If you have the time and enjoy a stroll, the walk is easy and straightforward, but if you're in a hurry or prefer convenience, using a ride share or taxi could be a better choice.
Hope that helps! Enjoy your trip to Las Vegas!
