Sonder - which one?

Hello, looking for some advice. I have stayed in Sonder before in Boston and it was fine. Lots of space and two bathrooms which definitely suited us! Looking at a 2 bed superior apartment hopefully with balcony in Chicago and there seems to be lots of choice,

I know the Sonder pricing and it’s not an issue, which one would people suggest. We won’t have a car, not nervous about using public transport or taxis but would like it to be in the most convenient place. Two adults will be going end of August 25 stating 4-5 days.

If you're looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay in Chicago with a Sonder 2-bedroom apartment, you're in luck because Sonder has several options in great areas around the city. Here are a few suggestions to help narrow down your choice:

  • River North: This is one of Chicago's most popular neighborhoods, known for its lively atmosphere, great restaurants, and nightlife. It's also home to many of the city's art galleries and a short walk to the Magnificent Mile. If you're looking to be close to the action, this area is perfect. It’s also well-connected by public transit to other parts of the city.
  • West Loop: If you love food, the West Loop is a top pick. Known for its vibrant dining scene with Michelin-starred restaurants and trendy cafes, this neighborhood is a great place for foodies. It’s also near the Loop (downtown Chicago) and offers a quieter, more residential feel compared to the busier tourist areas. It's a short ride from the River North area.
  • The Loop: The central business district and heart of Chicago, the Loop is ideal if you want to be close to major attractions like Millennium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Chicago Riverwalk. It’s perfect if you want to be in the center of it all, with easy access to public transport and taxis.
  • South Loop: For a slightly quieter and more relaxed atmosphere, the South Loop offers good options. It’s close to the Museum Campus, where you can visit attractions like the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium. It's also conveniently located for accessing downtown, without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

Since you mentioned that you're comfortable with public transport, all of these neighborhoods are well-connected to the city’s CTA trains and buses, making it easy to get around. If you want to be near dining and nightlife, River North and the West Loop are fantastic choices. If you're seeking more cultural sites and a central location, the Loop is a solid pick. South Loop is great if you prefer a quieter, less tourist-heavy area, but still within reach of major attractions.

As for a balcony, Sonder properties in these neighborhoods generally offer modern, well-equipped apartments, but it’s always a good idea to check the specific listing to confirm if a balcony is included. Enjoy your trip to Chicago!
