Where to view some robots
I often read the news about robot development in China. Is there a place for the public to view them? Per google--Beijing E-Town and also Beijing World of Robots in Beijing Robotics Industrial Park. Are these 2 places open to the public?
Beijing has been rapidly developing its robotics industry, and there are indeed places associated with robotics that the public can visit, but access is somewhat limited compared to regular tourist attractions.
Regarding the two locations you mentioned:
- Beijing E-Town: This is primarily an industrial and technology development zone focused on high-tech industries, including robotics. It is mostly a business park and not designed as a public exhibition space. Casual visitors usually cannot freely tour the facilities without prior arrangements or invitations for official visits, conferences, or events.
- Beijing World of Robots (Beijing Robotics Industrial Park): This location has been mentioned in media and trade reports as a hub for robotics research and exhibitions. Some parts of the park occasionally host public exhibitions, trade fairs, or robotics demonstrations. However, regular day-to-day public access may be restricted, and visiting usually requires checking for scheduled events or arranging a visit through the park’s administration.
For visitors who want to see robots in action without needing special permissions, alternative options include:
- Technology or science museums in Beijing that occasionally host robotics exhibitions, such as the China Science and Technology Museum.
- Universities or research institutions that run open days or public demonstrations of robotics.
- Occasional robotics expos or trade shows, which are often advertised online and allow public attendance.
In summary, while both Beijing E-Town and Beijing World of Robots are key robotics hubs, they are not fully open to the public on a casual basis. To visit, it is best to check for scheduled public exhibitions, trade fairs, or arrange an official visit in advance.
