Day trip from Maui via Mokulele?

Going to Maui in March, considering a day-trip to Molokai via Mokulele Airlines (since that seems the only way to get there). Fly over in morning….spend the day there…then fly back late afternoon/early evening. Their website shows lots of daily flights and availability, but I am way after reading about all of their cancellations and other issues. Have they improved or are they still having the same issues? Is it crazy to think about trying this?
