Best Strip lodging for easy access to rental car

My partner and I are planning to spend three nights (Wednesday to Friday) in Las Vegas at the end of April and will be renting a car. Our itinerary is to fly into Palm Springs and spend three days in 29 Palms/Joshua Tree National Park, followed by a drive north to Boulder City and the Hoover Dam. The last three nights will be spent in Las Vegas, as we have an 8:00 a.m. flight out of LAS on Saturday.

Our lodging is booked except for the last 3 nights in Vegas. I hope the folks on this forum can provide suggestions for a good hotel on the Strip that offers easy access to our rental car. We are not big drinkers or gamblers, so we have planned some early morning outdoor activities, such as Red Rock Canyon, which will require the use of our rental car. I considered staying off the Strip, but it will be our first time visiting Las Vegas, so I'm not sure that's a good idea. Specifically, I'm unsure whether it would be worth the hassle to stay off the Strip and then try to park the rental on the Strip or use Uber to travel to and from a few times versus just staying on the Strip itself. Any ideas for lodging that could possibly work for us would be greatly appreciated.

For your trip to Las Vegas, considering you're planning to use a rental car for outdoor activities like visiting Red Rock Canyon and the Hoover Dam, staying on the Strip with easy access to your rental car is a smart idea. While staying off the Strip can save on hotel costs, the convenience of parking and accessing the main attractions can be a bit cumbersome, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area. Below are some hotel options that offer good access to rental cars and are still conveniently located on the Strip:

1. The Venetian Resort

The Venetian is a top choice if you're looking for a luxurious stay with easy access to your rental car. The hotel offers valet and self-parking options, making it easy for you to access your vehicle when needed. The hotel is located in the central part of the Strip, close to many attractions. The parking structure is spacious and convenient, and the resort is well-suited for guests who prefer a more relaxed, non-gambling environment.

2. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

The Cosmopolitan offers valet parking with easy access to the Strip, making it a great option for those planning to drive to attractions outside of the Strip. It's an upscale, trendy hotel with modern amenities, and it’s located in the heart of the Strip. The valet and self-parking options are efficient, and the hotel also offers convenient access to dining and entertainment without the heavy focus on gambling, which may suit your preferences.

3. Paris Las Vegas

Paris is centrally located on the Strip, with easy access to the freeway and valet or self-parking. The French-themed hotel offers a more relaxed environment with fewer distractions compared to some of the bigger casino resorts. The location is excellent for accessing both the Strip and the surrounding areas, and its parking facilities are spacious and easy to navigate.

4. Bellagio

If you want to be right on the Strip and have a luxurious experience, Bellagio is a great option. The hotel offers valet parking as well as easy self-parking. It is one of the more iconic properties on the Strip, with beautiful gardens and fountains, and is centrally located for your planned activities. Bellagio also has a variety of restaurants and shows to enjoy, though it’s still a quieter option compared to some other resorts.

5. MGM Grand

MGM Grand is one of the larger resorts with ample parking facilities and valet service. It’s located at the southern end of the Strip but offers good access to main attractions and major highways for those planning to drive outside the city. The hotel provides various dining options and is a great choice if you want easy access to parking and quick entry/exit from the hotel to your vehicle.

6. Park MGM

Park MGM is a more boutique-style hotel on the Strip that offers parking and valet options. It's a good choice if you're looking for something more relaxed and laid-back. The hotel is close to the T-Mobile Arena and some great dining options, and it's not as busy as some of the larger resorts. The self-parking is easy to navigate, and it's centrally located on the Strip, so getting to your car for your outdoor excursions will be simple.

7. The Cromwell

The Cromwell offers a more intimate hotel experience on the Strip with easy access to parking. While it is a smaller resort, it’s still in a great location right on the Strip and offers valet parking. It’s a good option if you want to avoid the larger crowds and the noisy casino floors while still being close to all the action.

Other Tips:

  • Off-Strip Parking: If you decide to stay off the Strip but want easy access to the main attractions, consider staying somewhere near the Las Vegas Convention Center or the Wynn, where parking is easier and less expensive. From there, you can take a short Uber ride to the Strip.
  • Hotel Parking Fees: Keep in mind that most hotels charge parking fees, especially for valet services. Be sure to budget for this when planning your stay.
  • Car Rentals at Hotels: If you’re planning to rent a car and want ease of access, make sure the hotel you choose provides ample parking and doesn't have limited spaces that could leave you scrambling for a spot.

In conclusion, staying on the Strip with easy access to your rental car is definitely worth it if you're planning to drive to nearby attractions like Red Rock Canyon and Hoover Dam. You’ll avoid the hassle of parking and navigating back and forth while still being close to all the major attractions. The Venetian, Cosmopolitan, Bellagio, and MGM Grand are all excellent choices with convenient parking and a good location for both Strip activities and outdoor excursions.
