Summer in PTC with kids

Hi, I am staying in PTC with my sons (13 and 9) this summer. Does anyone have any ideas of where we can go and what we can to, so that I can keep them entertained during our visit?

Peachtree City (PTC) offers a variety of activities to keep your sons entertained during the summer, whether they enjoy outdoor adventures, sports, or indoor fun. Here are some great ideas for family-friendly activities in and around Peachtree City:

  • Golf Cart Rides: Peachtree City is famous for its extensive network of golf cart paths. Renting a golf cart and exploring the city via its scenic trails is a unique and fun way to spend time together. You can take a leisurely ride through the parks, lakes, and wooded areas, or even head to one of the local shopping areas for some food or shopping. It's also a great way to explore the city without having to deal with traffic.
  • Line Creek Nature Area: This 100-acre nature preserve is perfect for a peaceful day of outdoor exploration. There are easy hiking trails that your sons will enjoy, with the opportunity to spot wildlife and enjoy the beauty of the woods. The creek offers a great spot for some quiet time and a nature walk.
  • The Avenue Peachtree City: If you're looking for a fun afternoon out, head to The Avenue shopping center, where you can find a mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. There’s often something going on, like live music or special events, and the kids will enjoy the open spaces where they can walk around or grab a treat from one of the cafes.
  • Flat Creek Nature Area: Another great spot for outdoor adventure is the Flat Creek Nature Area, which offers hiking, birdwatching, and a peaceful environment for exploring. It’s also a good place to introduce your kids to nature if they enjoy outdoor activities.
  • Peachtree City Library: If you’re looking for something more low-key, the Peachtree City Library often offers programs and events for kids, including storytimes, craft sessions, or summer reading challenges. It’s a great place to pick up books and spend a quiet afternoon, especially if the weather is too hot outside.
  • Sky Zone Trampoline Park (in nearby Fayetteville): For a more active and exciting outing, take your kids to Sky Zone, a trampoline park where they can burn off energy jumping on various trampoline areas, including foam pits, dodgeball, and other fun activities. It's a great option for a rainy day or when you need to give the kids a more energetic outlet.
  • Southern Hollywood Film Tour (in nearby Senoia): Just a short drive from Peachtree City is the town of Senoia, which has become famous for being the filming location for shows like *The Walking Dead*. If your kids are fans of the show, they may enjoy taking a guided tour of the area to see where some of the iconic scenes were filmed.
  • Laser Tag at Battlezone (in Fayetteville): Another great option for active kids is a trip to Battlezone Laser Tag, just outside of Peachtree City. The facility offers exciting laser tag battles, and your sons will love competing in a safe and fun environment.
  • Swimming and Splash Pads: If your kids are water lovers, there are several great swimming options. Peachtree City has a community pool that is perfect for a refreshing day in the water. Additionally, nearby parks may offer splash pads that are great for younger kids and provide a fun way to cool down during the hot summer days.

In addition to these activities, there are often local events, outdoor movie nights, and summer camps that you can check out for more entertainment options. If you’re willing to drive a bit further, you could also explore Atlanta's attractions like the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, or the Atlanta Botanical Garden, which are all within driving distance of Peachtree City.

With these options, your sons will have plenty of things to do and see, ensuring a fun and memorable summer visit to Peachtree City!
