Virgina City Inn

I have been calling repeatedly to make changes to an existing reservation at Virginia City Inn. Booked originally on the hotel website and it states to call for charges or cancelation. I have called 6 times and left 4 messages and they don't answer or return calls. Anybody out there that have had issue with this hotel? Information is appreciated. Guess I will try the visitor's center to see if they know anything about this hotel . Thanks

It sounds frustrating to deal with unresponsive customer service, especially when you need to make changes to your reservation. While I can't speak specifically for Virginia City Inn, here are a few suggestions and possible next steps to resolve your situation:

  • Try Different Contact Methods: If phone calls and voicemails aren't working, consider emailing the hotel directly if they have an email address listed on their website. Alternatively, you can try reaching out via social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram if the hotel has accounts there.
  • Contact the Visitor’s Center: As you mentioned, reaching out to the local Visitor's Center can be a good idea. They may have more up-to-date information about the hotel and can help you get in touch with someone who can assist you with your reservation.
  • Check Third-Party Booking Sites: If you booked through a third-party platform like Booking.com or Expedia, sometimes it's easier to make changes or cancellations directly through them, as they may have dedicated customer support that can intervene on your behalf.
  • Leave a Clear Message: When leaving voicemails, ensure you provide all relevant details (reservation number, desired changes, and a call-back number) and a clear request. If possible, try to leave messages at different times of the day to ensure they receive your request during working hours.
  • Consider the Visitor’s Center for In-Person Help: In case you're in the area or can visit, you may want to stop by the Visitor's Center to get more information or ask if they can provide assistance. They are often in contact with local businesses and might have a way to escalate your request.

As for issues with the hotel, it's not uncommon for smaller or less-established businesses to have inconsistent communication, especially during busy seasons. If you continue to encounter problems, checking online reviews (like Google or TripAdvisor) may provide insight from other guests who had similar experiences, which could help you decide if you want to continue with the reservation or look for alternatives.

Good luck with resolving the situation, and I hope you get the answers you're looking for soon!
