Hilton vacation club Polynesia Ilse - do I need a car

Do I need car hire if staying at the hilton vacation club Polynesia? We are looking to stay 4 nights, going to Disney springs, one day at Hollywood studios. I've looked on the map but to be honest don't know much about the area and hoping just to use Uber. Thank you

The Hilton Vacation Club Polynesian Isles is located in Kissimmee, just off US-192, in a well-developed resort area close to Disney property. The good news is that for a short stay—like your 4 nights focused on Disney Springs and Hollywood Studios—you do *not* need a rental car unless you prefer the convenience of driving yourself everywhere.

Uber/Lyft work extremely well from this resort because you’re close to Disney’s eastern entrance and an area with plenty of rides circulating. The resort is not walking distance to Disney Springs or the parks, but ride-share makes it very manageable.

Here’s a breakdown to help you decide:

  • Uber/Lyft to Disney Springs: Typically 10–15 minutes depending on traffic. Very easy ride, and drivers are plentiful in this part of Kissimmee.
  • Uber/Lyft to Hollywood Studios: Usually 12–18 minutes. The drop-off area for ride-shares is well organized, and the price is usually reasonable for such a short distance.
  • Groceries & essentials nearby: If you want to pick up snacks, breakfast items, or drinks for your villa, there are supermarkets, restaurants, and convenience stores within a 2–5 minute Uber ride.

If your plans expand beyond Disney—like venturing to Universal, International Drive, or exploring multiple restaurants all over Orlando—then a rental car may save money. But for your specific itinerary (Disney Springs + Hollywood Studios + relaxing at the resort), ride-share is the simplest choice.

Additional considerations:

  • Parking fees: Polynesian Isles typically does not charge extra for parking, but Disney parks do. Using Uber means you don’t pay Disney’s parking fees.
  • Traffic: Driving on I-4 or US-192 can be stressful during peak times. Uber lets you bypass that hassle.
  • li>Weather: Florida heat and rain can make walking long distances from parking lots a pain—ride-share drops you very close to the entrances.

Bottom line: For a short, Disney-focused stay at Polynesian Isles, you can absolutely rely on Uber. It’s easy, quick, and often cheaper than renting a car once you factor in parking, gas, and daily rental rates.

If you decide you want one “flexibility day,” renting a car for just 24 hours locally is always an option. But you definitely do not need one for your planned activities.
