Windsor Palms - restaurants and Supermarkets

Hi, we are arriving at MCO on a Saturday mid July at around 17:00 and have a villa booked through AirBnB at Windsor Palms, we have some questions:

1. Planning on just heading to the villa but maybe via a supermarket to pick up essentials for dinner and breakfast the next morning, is there somewhere nearby that would allow us?

2. How long will it take to get through security, pick up cases and hire car at MCO? We have planned in around 3 hours so hoping to be on the road at around 20:00

3. Is it possible to have a Tesco style delivery to our villa the following morning, or would I be as well just driving to the shops?

4. Any good family style restaurants nearby?

Thanks!!

Windsor Palms is a popular vacation villa community located just a short drive from the Disney area in Orlando, making it convenient for supermarkets, restaurants, and airport access.

1. Supermarkets Nearby:

If you want to stop for essentials on your way to the villa, there are several supermarkets close to Windsor Palms:

  • Publix Super Market: Located about 5–10 minutes drive from Windsor Palms on US-192. A large chain with groceries, fresh produce, bakery, deli, and ready-made meals.
  • Walmart Supercenter: About 10–15 minutes away, also on US-192. Offers groceries, household essentials, and a pharmacy.
  • Target: Another option around 10–15 minutes away, with groceries, toiletries, and snacks.

Stopping at any of these should give you everything you need for your first dinner and breakfast at the villa.

2. MCO Arrival Timing:

Allowing around 3 hours from landing at MCO for international arrivals in mid-July is generally reasonable:

  • Clearing immigration and customs can take 45–90 minutes depending on queues.
  • Baggage claim may take another 15–30 minutes.
  • Rental car pickup (on-site or off-site shuttle) typically takes 20–30 minutes.

Planning to be on the road by 20:00 for a 17:00 arrival is realistic, but keep in mind summer crowds and occasional delays could extend this slightly.

3. Grocery Delivery:

Yes, Orlando has services similar to Tesco delivery in the UK. You can schedule delivery directly to your villa:

  • Instacart: Partners with Publix, Walmart, and other stores to deliver groceries same day or scheduled.
  • Amazon Fresh or Whole Foods: Offers grocery delivery if you prefer online ordering in advance.
  • Publix Delivery: Publix has a partnership with Instacart for scheduled delivery to vacation homes.

Alternatively, a short drive to the nearby supermarket is easy and allows you to pick items immediately if you prefer to shop in person.

4. Family Style Restaurants Nearby:

There are several casual, family-friendly restaurants within a 5–15 minute drive:

  • Sweet Tomatoes: Buffet style with fresh salads, soups, and hot dishes.
  • Flippers Pizzeria: Casual pizza and pasta, good for kids.
  • Olive Garden: Italian-American chain, good portions for families.
  • IHOP: Great for breakfast or a casual dinner.
  • Perkins Restaurant & Bakery: American diner-style with breakfast served all day.

Overall, Windsor Palms is well-located for both picking up groceries and enjoying family meals without traveling far. For a smoother arrival, planning either a quick supermarket stop on the way or a pre-scheduled delivery for the villa will ensure you have essentials ready.
