Are there any hotels on a vineyard?

Planning a trip in July. Wondering if there are any hotesl or B&B either on a vineyard OR winery in the hotel/B&B location. Want to find a unique B&B or hotel instead of a run of the mill Hilton/Marriot property. Any other recommendations? First time visitor.

Thanks.

Santa Barbara County is famous for its vineyards and wine country, so staying on a vineyard or at a winery-focused property can provide a unique and memorable experience. Most of these accommodations are boutique hotels, inns, or B&Bs rather than large chain hotels, which fits your desire for something special.

Here are some options to consider:

  • San Ysidro Ranch: Located in Montecito, this historic property is set among beautiful gardens and vineyards. It offers a luxurious and romantic setting, with the opportunity to enjoy the scenery and some wine tastings nearby.
  • Fess Parker Wine Country Inn: Located in Los Olivos, this charming inn is right in the Santa Ynez Valley wine country. Some rooms overlook vineyards, and the inn can arrange tastings at nearby wineries.
  • Ballard Inn & Restaurant: Also in the Santa Ynez Valley, this boutique inn offers stylish rooms and is close to several boutique wineries, providing easy access for tastings and vineyard views.
  • Wine Valley Inn: In Solvang, some rooms offer vineyard views, and it’s centrally located for exploring the surrounding wineries and tasting rooms in the valley.

Other recommendations for first-time visitors include considering smaller boutique B&Bs or guesthouses near Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, or Ballard. Many of these are not directly on the vineyard but offer packages or tours that immerse you in the wine country experience.

  • Check for properties offering wine tasting experiences or vineyard tours included in your stay.
  • Consider staying in Solvang for a charming Danish village experience while still having access to nearby wineries.
  • For a romantic or quiet getaway, Montecito properties like San Ysidro Ranch provide both vineyard-adjacent views and luxury amenities.

Booking early is essential in July, as this is peak season for Santa Barbara wine country. Choosing a property within the Santa Ynez Valley gives you access to multiple wineries within short driving distances, providing flexibility for wine tastings and scenic exploration.
