Restaurant w Lobster bake
We are going to be in town This wk. Cabbage Island clambake is not held until later in the Summer. I know every restaurant has some version of lobster. We have one who never had a bake w corn, pot, clams etc. Does anyone know of a restaurant who does one?
If you're looking for a traditional lobster bake experience while in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, it’s a great idea to seek out restaurants that serve a version of this iconic New England meal. While Cabbage Island Clambake is a popular option later in the season, there are still some other great restaurants that offer lobster bakes, either in the traditional style or with a slightly different spin. Here are a few places you can check out for a lobster bake or similar experience:
- Boothbay Harbor Lobster Wharf - This is a local favorite offering a traditional lobster bake featuring lobster, corn, potatoes, and clams, all cooked right on the premises. They offer a casual atmosphere with views of the harbor, and it's a great spot for seafood lovers. If you're looking for that classic lobster bake with all the fixings, this is a solid choice.
- Shannon's Unshelled - Located near Boothbay Harbor, Shannon's serves up a variety of fresh seafood options, including lobster dishes. They don't necessarily offer a full lobster bake, but their lobster rolls and seafood plates are top-notch, and they may be able to do a special meal for you if you call ahead and inquire about a lobster bake-style feast.
- The Lobster Dock - A more casual, down-to-earth spot in Boothbay Harbor that serves up lobster and seafood dishes. While their menu doesn’t specifically list a traditional lobster bake, you can often ask for a lobster boil, which will feature lobster, corn, potatoes, and clams, similar to what you would get at a classic bake.
- New England Lobster Company - They offer some great lobster dishes and might be able to accommodate a request for a lobster bake-style meal. It’s always a good idea to call ahead and see if they can arrange something for your group.
- Red's Eats - Famous for its lobster rolls, Red's Eats may not have a full lobster bake on the menu, but it’s a beloved Maine institution for fresh lobster and seafood. They also offer great local flavors, and the fresh lobster might make up for the lack of a formal lobster bake.
If none of these spots quite match the traditional lobster bake you're hoping for, it's worth calling ahead to inquire if the restaurant can set something up for you, especially if you're visiting during the off-season or before places like Cabbage Island begin their regular clambake events.
Enjoy your time in Boothbay Harbor, and be sure to indulge in Maine’s signature seafood dishes while you're there!
