Hi everyone
I’m visiting from the UK in July and staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We want to get some groceries delivered the day we arrive (just water, drinks and snacks, no alcohol). Am I right in thinking that these will de delivered to bell services at the hotel and bell services will delivery it to the room for $6 plus a tip? We’ll probably order 3 or 4 crates of water plus everything else will that be ok?
If I want to pre order it a few days before is garden grocer best? I have tried looking at Walmart and Amazon fresh but as I’m in the UK it won’t let me. I don’t mind paying slightly more for ease.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Yes, you are correct in your understanding of how grocery deliveries work at Walt Disney World resorts. Most grocery delivery services, including Garden Grocer, will deliver to the resort’s bell services, and then bell services will bring the items up to your room for a small fee, usually around $6, plus a tip for the bell staff. This service can easily accommodate multiple crates of water and snacks, so ordering 3-4 crates of water along with other groceries should be fine, just be sure to specify quantities clearly when placing the order.
Garden Grocer is indeed one of the most popular and reliable services for Disney guests, especially for international visitors. It allows you to pre-order groceries in advance, and they typically deliver to your resort at a time you specify. Many UK guests find Garden Grocer easier to use than Walmart or Amazon Fresh, which often have restrictions on accounts outside the US. While prices are slightly higher than in-store shopping, the convenience of delivery to your hotel and avoiding the need to rent a car for grocery shopping makes it worth it.
Some helpful tips for your order:
Other alternatives include using Instacart with certain grocery stores, but Garden Grocer remains the simplest for UK guests due to their experience with Disney resort deliveries and no issues with international credit cards. You can also combine a mix of pre-packed snacks and drinks from your home country with local items to minimize the number of crates.
Overall, ordering a few days in advance via Garden Grocer and having bell services deliver to your room is the most straightforward and stress-free way to get groceries, especially for a July trip with multiple crates of water and snack items.
