We will be in town for 3 days for a Buccaneers games. I considered staying at the Embassy Suites near the airport. Is there a better area where. We could walk to restaurants and shop?
If you're planning to visit Tampa for a Buccaneers game and want to stay in an area where you can walk to restaurants and shops, there are a few neighborhoods that offer both convenience and plenty of things to do, in addition to being close to the stadium. While the Embassy Suites near the airport is a solid option, staying in a more central location might give you more opportunities to explore the city's vibrant atmosphere. Here are a few areas to consider:
Option 1: Downtown Tampa
Staying in Downtown Tampa is a fantastic choice if you want to be near not only restaurants and shopping but also the stadium. The area offers a variety of dining, shopping, and entertainment options, including the Riverwalk, which features beautiful views and pedestrian-friendly access to many attractions. You'll be within a short drive or even walk to Raymond James Stadium, making it a convenient choice for game day.
Option 2: Channelside District
The Channelside area is another great option if you're looking for a more energetic neighborhood with easy access to restaurants, bars, and shops. It's a little closer to the waterfront and has a lively atmosphere with attractions like the Florida Aquarium and the Amalie Arena (home of the Tampa Bay Lightning). This area offers several dining options, from casual spots to higher-end restaurants, as well as a few trendy boutiques. It's about a 10-minute drive to the stadium, so you'll need transportation on game day, but the area is fantastic for walking around and enjoying the local scene.
Option 3: Hyde Park Village
If you're looking for a more laid-back, upscale area with a blend of shopping, dining, and residential charm, Hyde Park Village is a great option. It's a bit further from the stadium but offers a very walkable neighborhood with beautiful tree-lined streets and boutique stores. You'll find a mix of high-end and casual dining here, and the area offers a more relaxed vibe while still being close to downtown and other attractions.
Any of these areas will put you in a great spot for enjoying Tampa beyond just the game, giving you a chance to explore its vibrant neighborhoods, enjoy great food, and make the most of your 3-day stay!
