Lyft car seat

Hi

Other year we used Uber with a fitted child seat

This year our granddaughter will be bordering on 6, so still expect her to need a fitted car seat

On Uber they display car fitted car seats

On Lyft it doesn’t seem to give you the option

I am sure Lyft must do ir

You're correct that Uber offers the option for a fitted child seat, but Lyft operates a bit differently. While Lyft doesn't offer an option to specifically select a car with a child seat from the app, they do have a service called "Lyft Car Seat" available in certain cities, including Orlando. However, there are some important details to note:

  • Lyft Car Seat Availability: In Orlando, you can request a Lyft ride with a car seat. This is usually an additional $10 surcharge, and the car seat is designed for children who weigh between 22–48 lbs (typically ages 2–5). Make sure to check the availability when you book your ride.
  • Requesting a Lyft Car Seat: To request a ride with a car seat, open the Lyft app, enter your destination, and tap on the ride options. If "Lyft Car Seat" is available in your area, it will be shown as one of the ride options. It's important to note that availability can vary based on location and the number of drivers offering this option.
  • Alternative Options: If Lyft Car Seat is not available, you can either bring your own car seat or consider using a car service that specifically provides car seats for children. Some taxi services and private car services in the Orlando area offer child-friendly options, so it might be worth exploring them as alternatives.

If you’re in Orlando and are concerned about availability, I recommend checking the Lyft app just before you need to book your ride to see if the car seat option is offered. If it's not, you can also bring your own car seat or look for another transportation service that provides them.

I hope this helps, and I wish you and your granddaughter a wonderful trip to Orlando!
