Crowded beach close to pier?

We are staying on Cocoa Beach August 26-29 and staying at 220 Young Ave. which appears to be less than 1/3 mile from the pier. Will the beach outside of our condo be totally packed this time of year, on weekdays, since we're close to the pier?

Cocoa Beach is a popular destination, especially near the pier, so it can get crowded, particularly during the summer months. However, since you’ll be visiting in late August, which is just before the school year begins, it might not be as crowded as peak summer months, but you could still expect decent foot traffic, especially around the weekends.

Since you're staying just a short walk from the pier (less than 1/3 mile), the beach area near the pier can be quite busy, as it is a popular spot for both tourists and locals. The pier area itself, with its shops and restaurants, tends to attract more visitors, which means the beach directly adjacent to it may be busier. However, weekdays (Monday to Thursday) should offer a bit more breathing room compared to weekends when it can get crowded with families and tourists.

  • If you're looking for a quieter experience, consider walking a little further down the beach from the pier. Cocoa Beach is long, and the further you go from the pier, the fewer people you'll encounter.
  • Another option is to explore the beach in the early mornings or later in the evening, when the crowds are typically thinner.
  • Even though the beach near the pier may be crowded, you'll still find plenty of space along the beach, especially during weekdays.

In short, the beach outside your condo might be a bit busy during the day due to its proximity to the pier, but with a bit of planning and flexibility, you’ll still be able to find less crowded spots on the beach. Enjoy your stay!
