Fun Friday Late Lunch
I would really love some advice on a fun but good food restaurant for 6 adults mid afternoon inor near the historic district. Forgtten Tonic looks fun but the menu seems limited. I have dined at the Ice Plant which was enjoyable but thinking to try something new like perhaps The Prohibition Kitchen. Casa Reina Taqueria setting looks great too. Please help me narrow down or I am open to other suggestions. Thanks !
St. Augustine’s historic district has a wealth of charming restaurants that make for a fun late lunch experience. Since you are looking for something enjoyable for six adults in the mid-afternoon, you’ll want a place with good food, a lively atmosphere, and comfortable seating.
Here are some suggestions to consider:
- The Prohibition Kitchen: Known for its fun 1920s-themed decor, craft cocktails, and hearty menu. Great for a group, and the atmosphere is lively without being overly loud during the afternoon. Menu includes shareable plates and sandwiches.
- Casa Reina Taqueria: Offers a colorful setting with flavorful Mexican cuisine. Perfect if your group enjoys casual dining with tacos, enchiladas, and creative margaritas. Outdoor seating is available for a relaxed vibe.
- Cellar 6: A bit more offbeat, this hidden gem offers a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere with elevated American fare, perfect for an afternoon meal. Great for groups who enjoy a trendy setting with quality food.
Other options worth considering for a fun late lunch:
- The Floridian: Farm-to-table Southern cuisine with vegetarian-friendly options. Casual, bright, and ideal for a group wanting local flavors.
- Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille: Offers a lively Creole-inspired menu. The mid-afternoon timing can be quieter than dinner, making it easy to enjoy with a group.
- O.C. White’s Seafood & Spirits: A waterfront location with fresh seafood and sandwiches. Casual yet scenic, great for relaxing over lunch and enjoying views of the Matanzas River.
In summary, if your priority is a fun, lively experience with good group seating, The Prohibition Kitchen or Casa Reina Taqueria would be top picks. If you want a slightly more relaxed but still enjoyable experience, The Floridian or O.C. White’s would work well.
