Day tour around Miami
Hi, any recommendations for a tour that will pick us up from Fort Lauderdale cruise port that has a tour around the general sights of Miami before dropping us off at Miami airport... if there is such a thing?!
Thanks x
Great question! Yes — there are a few tour options that pick you up (or meet you) after your cruise in Miami (or nearby), give you a good tour of Miami’s highlights, and then drop you off at Miami International Airport (MIA) (or nearby). It just depends which tour style you prefer (small-group, more “sightseeing + cruise,” or a custom/private transfer + city drive). Here are some solid options + tips:
- See Sight Tours — “Miami Premium Tour with Cruise Port Pick-Up + Airport Drop-Off”
- This is a 5-hour small-group guided tour.
- You’ll see Little Havana, the colorful Wynwood Walls, and more.
- Includes a scenic cruise (Island Queen) on Biscayne Bay (city skyline views, Millionaire’s Row, etc.).
- They pick you up at the Port of Miami, and drop you off at Miami International Airport at the end — very convenient.
- Small group (max ~7) means a more personal, relaxed experience.
- GTO / See Sight — “Best of Miami” (Port Pickup / Airport Drop-Off)
- Very similar to the tour above — covers Little Havana, Wynwood Walls, South Beach / Art Deco District.
- Luxury Mercedes-style vehicle transport.
- Includes the Island Queen cruise.
- Pick-up from Port of Miami, drop-off at MIA.
- Miami Tour Company – “Fort Lauderdale to the Max! + Everglades”
- Longer (around 10.5 hours), but gives a broader experience: Miami sightseeing + Everglades airboat tour.
- If you want to maximize your “one day in Florida” and don’t mind a busy day, this is a more adventurous pick.
- Note: This particular version mentions pick-up from Fort Lauderdale, not necessarily port, so you may need to check whether the operator can pick you up *directly from the cruise terminal*.
- Viator — Private Transfer + Tour Combination
- Custom/private vehicle service that includes a city tour *plus* drop-off at the Miami airport, per your request.
- You can tailor how much sightseeing you want (stop at Wynwood, Little Havana, Vizcaya, etc.).
- Flexible, but likely more expensive than group tours — good if you want control and a stress-free transfer.
Things to think about when booking:
- Confirm with the tour company that they can pick up exactly at your cruise terminal (there are multiple, depending on the cruise line).
- Check the drop-off location at MIA — make sure it’s at your terminal or a convenient spot.
- Because tours involve walking (Wynwood, Little Havana), wear comfortable shoes.
- Bring a bit of flexibility in your schedule — traffic in Miami can affect timing.
- If you choose a longer tour (Everglades + Miami), make sure your flight’s departure time from MIA gives you enough margin.
My recommendation: The See Sight “Miami Premium Tour” is probably your best bet. It’s long enough to see key neighborhoods (Wynwood, Little Havana, South Beach), plus the cruise on the bay, and it ends at the airport — exactly what you're looking for.
If you like the idea of a very customized day and are okay paying more, the Viator private transfer + tour will give you flexibility and comfort.
